Can senior cohousing be set up here?

Posted
BRATTLEBORO — On Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m., St. Michael's Episcopal Church will host a discussion of the idea of a senior cohousing community for those seniors who want to downsize but still remain in their community.

Senior cohousing is a planned community of independent homes with neighbors within walking distance. Not a commune (no sharing of finances) but rather shared ownership of a common house and grounds governed by the community. More information can be found at the Sage Cohousing website. https://sagecohoadvocates.org/.

Could such a community be created locally? Annamarie Pluhar will facilitate a preliminary discussion about aging in place in this part of the world. Pluhar is the founder of Sharing Housing, Inc. and is a certified facilitator for Senior Cohousing "Study Group 1."

The meeting will be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 16 Bradley Ave., first floor meeting room.

For more information contact Pluhar at annamarie@sharinghousing.org or 802-451-1941.
