Citizens panel to review plant decommissioning work

MONTPELIER — The Vermont Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel (VT NDCAP) will hold its fourth meeting of 2020 on Monday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The meeting will be conducted as a Microsoft Teams webcast and teleconference.

NorthStar and Vermont State Agencies will present highlights of recent Vermont Yankee decommissioning activities. Additionally, the panel will hear a presentation from Jim Hamilton (Nuclear Decommissioning Collaborative) on the status of US Spent Nuclear Fuel Policy. A summary of spent fuel-related bills currently before Congress will also be provided by Vermont Congressional Staff.

Presentation materials for this meeting will be added to the VT NDCAP website at publicservice.vermont.gov/electric/ndcap as they become available. All presentations will be available for electronic viewing prior to the start of the meeting. Questions or comments on the meeting presentations may be sent to the panel before, during or after the meeting by emailing PSD.NDCAP@vermont.gov. Members of the public who anticipate speaking during the meeting's public comment periods are encouraged to register in advanced.
