Clark has big day, South falls

MIDDLEBURY — Bellows Falls Union High School student Shane Clark ran the ball 20 times for 112 yards and two scores during the South's 57-41 loss to the North in Saturday's All-Star football game at Middlebury College.

Burr and Burton quarterback Jay McCoy had 105 rushing yards for the South, which fell behind 19-0 before Clark delivered with a 22-yard run to paydirt. Windsor quarterback Seth Balch later scored on a sneak, which was set up by a 51-yard halfback option pass from BF's Logan Cota to Will Fischer.

Balch threw an 11-yard TD pass to Austin Ellis, Clark struck again, and McCoy found the end zone twice — on runs of six and 46 yards — to cap the scoring for the South.

Nate Parady of Saint Albans paced the winners with 120 rushing yards and three scores. He also returned a punt for a touchdown.
