Clement claims weekly honor

BRATTLEBORO — Christmas came early for a Hinsdale student whose middle name is Noel.

Kelsi Clement's gift is a free night of cosmic bowling from Brattleboro Bowl.

The Hinsdale varsity softball team's slugger was nominated for Brattleboro Reformer Athlete of the Week after she drove in five runs during her team's 18-5 win over Hillsboro. She received 142 votes, including one from 1,000-point scorer Skylar Bonnette and another from a Marine named Kramer Marshall.

Clement joins Sammantha Pelton (Leland & Gray Unified basketball), Breanna Stockman (Bellows Falls track) and Reno Tuttle (Bellows Falls track) as this spring's winners.

He finished with four goals and four blocks to help the Leland & Gray Ultimate Disc team to a 15-4 home win over Long Trail.

The Brattleboro Union High School track star won the 100, 200 and long jump at the Connecticut Valley Conference Championship meet on Saturday in Hanover, N.H.

Grady Lockerby

The Bellows Falls varsity baseball players went 3-for-3 and drove in five runs during his team's 15-4 victory over rival Springfield.

Calvin Atkins

At the CVC Championship meet, the Hinsdale track and field athlete wound up fourth in the discus to lead the Pacers.
