Club news and notes

The Brattleboro Floral Arts & Garden Club will meet on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Green Mountain Chapel on Western Avenue, right next to the covered bridge. The annual Souper Supper is a time to enjoy autumnal themed food, especially soups.

The meeting room will be set with table cloths and participants are asked to bring their own place setting for the table (plate, bowl, cup, glass, silverware) and a small flower arrangement for the place setting. Following great food and great conversation, club member Mary Heninger will present a program on "The Sex Lives of Ferns and Mosses." Mary promises that the program will be "like nothing you've heard before!" Guests are welcome to attend the meeting.

The next meeting of the Newfane Garden Club will take place on Thursday, Oct. 5. The meeting will be held at the Moore Free Library instead of the church. Sally Winchester will be presenting the program on orchids at 2 p.m. The change occurred because there will be Heritage Festival preparations going on at the church that afternoon. Guests are always welcome.
