Dance classes offered in many genres, skill levels
BRATTLEBORO — The Southern Vermont Dance Festival offers more than 50 classes from July 18 to July 21, with a variety of ticket options and genres offered.
There are classes in ballet, modern jazz, tap and contemporary in every skill level from "I have never stepped foot in a dance studio" to "I have danced professionally in New York City for many years." This year the festival has classes in belly dance, composition, Israeli contemporary, tap, body percussion, pump your pelvis against the patriarchy, hip hop, jazz and more.
For the third year in a row, SVDF will also offer a yoga and restoration track. There is yoga, pilates, restoration and other fitness style courses at all time slots. SVDF has created this curated track or you can make your own schedule. In addition to a yoga track there is also curated tracks in Dance Newbie, Pro Track, Dance Fest Summer, World Dance and more.
Throughout the four-day festival SVDF offers around 60 classes. Attendees can choose from several different festival passes. Every pass allows attendees to see performances and take classes. The most popular pass is the Full Immersion Pass allowing people to take two to four classes/day and see two gala performances as well as informal performances and community events.
Advanced purchase of class passes is recommended because prices increase at the door and online registration ensures you get the classes of your choice.
