Derosia delivers, earns Reformer's weekly honor

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Union High School varsity girls basketball player Hailey Derosia received 148 votes to earn Reformer Athlete of the Week honors for Jan. 21-27.

The junior was nominated after going off for 20 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and four steals to lead the Colonels to a 64-49 win over Drury.

"Hailey was a beast! She took over the game right from the opening tip and never let up," said BUHS coach Paul Freed after that victory.

Derosia joins Delaney Wilcox (Hinsdale), Halle Dickerson (Bellows Falls), Madison Streeter (Bellows Falls), Adam Newton (BUHS), Rachael Rooney (BUHS) and Anthony Palomba (BUHS) as winter winners. Her prize is a night of free Cosmic Bowling for two at Brattleboro Bowl.
