Disco Dance Party set for Sept. 17

Bellows Falls — It's a 70s flashback as the disco ball spins on Saturday, Sept. 17 when Studio 33, WOOL-FM's first annual Disco Dance Party, complete with light show and Soul Train streaming video, comes to the wooden dance floor of the Moose Lodge, 59 Westminster St.

DJ Skar, direct from Chicago, will mix the beat of your favorite disco, funk, soul and hip hop classics. At only 8 years old, DJ Skar began spinning records in his parent's basement in Maywood, Ill. Skar took his skills on the road during his time in the Air Force, spinning in clubs in Germany, Italy, and Israel. Upon returning to Chicago, he developed a following and has spun records at the Funky Buddha Lounge, Butterfly Social Club, Simone's Bar, Maria's Community Bar, Harbee's Liquors & Tavern, Morgan's Bar, Blitz Bar, Lava Lounge, and The Horseman among others. His long-standing residency at Simone's helped to cement the bar as a place to go for excellent music.

In 2014, DJ Skar relocated with his family to Vermont. His weekly radio show, Live & Direct with DJ Skar on WOOL-FM Black Sheep Radio, has quickly become a fan favorite in New England.

All proceeds support WOOL-FM, 91.5 Black Sheep Community Radio, located at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls. Cash bar, raffles and food available for purchase from the Moose Lodge and Jamaican Jewelz Catering. Dress to impress encouraged.

Door opens at 7:30 for seating. Ticket cost is $8 in advance, $10 at the door. 18-plus only unless accompanied by adult. For tickets and more information, visit www.blacksheepradio.org
