Downy, Holiday on fire


BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Subaru beat Southern Vermont Painting 84-66 and Southern Vermont Sprinkler outscored Rice Appraisal 71-53 in a pair of men's league basketball games Friday at the Gibson-Aiken Center. Chris Eno poured in 28 points to pace the dealership and Ryan Washburn pumped in 24 to power SVS.

There were a pair of thrillers played on Sunday, with Lightlife Foods edging Walker Farm 76-75 and Hazel topping Dixon's Painters 67-66. Ty Downy of Lightlife Foods went off for 30 points to lead all scorers that day.

In women's league basketball action on Monday, Houghton nipped Chroma 49-47. Annie Holiday and Brittany Bailly were the top scorers for the winners with 19 and 16 points respectively.
