Gilbeau hauls in Reformer's weekly prize

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Union High School varsity football player Brenden Gilbeau received 173 votes to earn Reformer Athlete of the Week honors for Sept. 24-30.

The junior wide receiver caught a couple of touchdown passes from quarterback Tyler Millerick during a 56-33 loss to defending Division 1 state champion Hartford in Week 5 of the Vermont high school season.

Gilbeau joins Bellows Falls field hockey players Abbe Cravinho and Sophia Hyslop along with Hinsdale soccer player Delaney Wilcox as 2017 fall winners. His prize is two free passes to Brattleboro Bowl for some Cosmic Bowling, which takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings from 9-11.

Patrick McDonald

The Leland & Gray varsity boys soccer player made four dangerous runs, converted on a penalty kick, and also assisted on a goal during a 3-0 victory over Mill River.

Kalin Noble

She scored the game-winning goal and also set up two tallies when the Brattleboro varsity field hockey team outscored rival MAU 3-0.

Logan Park

He had a hat trick and one assist as the Twin Valley varsity boys soccer team topped Green Mountain 7-3.

Delaney Bullock

The Putney School's cross-country runner led start to finish to win the varsity girls race in Brattleboro in 13:44. She would place sixth overall in a 42-team meet in Thetford later in the week.

Logan Cota

The Bellows Falls quarterback threw for two touchdowns and ran for a couple more in a 54-0 decision over Mount Abe.
