Grant funds new dry hydrant

TOWNSHEND — On Oct. 4, Townshend Volunteer Fire Department installed a new dry hydrant in a very large pond located on Plumb Road. With a grant from Vermont Association of Conservation Districts and the help of Troy Dare, Donald Gould Excavating, Ross Evans and several TVFD members, the new installation was completed.

The new hydrant will serve many residential and commercial locations. The hydrant has already been utilized for a nearby house fire. Residents in the near vicinity could contact their insurance company for a possible discount.
