Green Mountain girls edge Rebels

TOWNSHEND — Paige Karl found the back of the net twice to help the undefeated Green Mountain varsity girls soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Leland & Gray.

Arin Bates and Sydney Hescock did the scoring for the Rebels, who never trailed until giving up the game-winner with three minutes remaining. Kamryn Raulin was in goal for the 7-0 Chieftains.

Leland & Gray (3-4) will play at Stratton on Friday.

In Ludlow, Hannah Dupuis converted on a penalty kick with five minutes left to give Bellows Falls a 2-1 win over Black River.

Layla Maiocco gathered a loose ball and beat goalie Paige Kelly to put the Terriers up 1-0 in the 20th minute. Hailey Pierce scored the equalizer for the Presidents with 10 minutes remaining in the contest.

Bellows Falls (1-5) will welcome Otter Valley on Friday.

Kai Boyd scored for the Brattleboro girls during a 3-1 loss to Mill River on Tenney Field.

The Colonels ended up with a 14-9 advantage in shots on goal. Megyn Ayotte finished with six saves for the hosts.

Brattleboro dropped to 1-6 overall and Division 2 leader Mill River improved to 6-0.
