DUMMERSTON — The Annual Meeting and program of the Dummerston Historical Society on Thursday, Jan. 17, will be "Behind the Rolling Pin: The Story of Dummerston Apple Pie Festival." The gathering begins at 7 pm. in the Historical Society's schoolhouse in Dummerston Center. The business meeting will include a brief review of 2018 activities, election of officers, adoption of the annual budget, an update on the fight against moisture damage and the capital fund to solve this problem.

The program, at 7:30 pm, will feature the DVD "Behind the Pie," produced by Theresa Maggio during the fall of 201l. This documentary serves to remind everyone of the hard work and dedication required by many to produce the apple treats that represent the foundation of the Dummerston Apple Pie Festival. Prepare to have your hearts touched by some of whom are no longer with us as they tirelessly and happily roll dough, slice apples and bake, store and sell all those delicious pies. Additional Apple Pie Festival stories will be welcome by those in attendance. The accompanying exhibit will be a collection of Apple Pie Festival photographs taken by Charles Fish.

Dummerston Historical Society welcomes all visitors; one does not need to be a member to attend programs; programs are free of charge and handicapped accessible. Refreshments will be served. Info: 802-254-9311.
