Howard voted athlete of the week
BRATTLEBORO — While NHL fans were submitting ballots for the "Last Men In" All-Star contest, several area hockey supporters were going online to check off Gavin Howard's name.
The sophomore forward, who had been nominated after scoring twice and dishing out three assists during a victory over Saint Johnsbury, received 120 votes to earn Reformer Athlete of the Week honors for Dec. 23-29.
Bellows Falls girls basketball player Abbe Cravinho (19 points versus Rivendell) finished a close second with 109 votes. Hinsdale's Angelina Nardolillo (quadruple-double against Newport) was next in line with 80 votes.
Howard joins teammate Anthony Palomba and BF's Taylor Goodell as winter winners. They have all earned a free night of cosmic bowling, which takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings at Brattleboro Bowl.
