Hunger Council meets today

BRATTLEBORO — Rep. Carolyn Partridge and Rep. Valerie Stuart will join members of the Hunger Council of the Windham Region today to hear about the Council's efforts to address hunger and malnutrition, and how they may be able to support these efforts from the Legislature.

Partridge and Stuart are long-time members and supporters of the Council, and will share their perspectives on the upcoming legislative session, and the challenges and opportunities facing low-income Vermonters in the Windham Region in 2018.

To launch the discussion, the Hunger Council's Subcommittee on Out-of-School Time Nutrition will present a new map they have developed that shows the existing meal sites for both children and adults in the Windham region, as well as the geographic gaps in our nutrition safety net. This new tool will be accessible online to help community members and service providers locate meals.

The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Marlboro College Graduate Center on Vernon Street. All are welcome.
