Laredo, Robinson concert to screen online

BRATTLEBORO — Husband-wife duo and Brattleboro Music Center advisers Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson will perform in a livestream concert at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The music center is hosting the online event in collaboration with the Detroit Chamber Music Society CameraMusic Series. The concert, recorded at the music center on May 18 and featuring Laredo as conductor and violinist and Robinson as cellist, will be preceded by an interview at 7:30 p.m. Both the interview and the concert can be viewed online at

The performance includes Handel/Halvorsen's

Passacaglia for Violin and Cello; Mozart's Duo for Violin and Cello, KV 423 in G major; Erwin Schulhoff's Duo for Violin and Cello and Andy Stein's Tango, from Suite for Two for Violin and Cello.

In addition to a recent Andre Previn Double Concerto, the duo has premiered and recorded double concertos by Richard Danielpour, Daron Hagen, David Ludwig, Ned Rorem and Ellen Zwilich. The duo continues to bring a new approach to violin-cello duos by Ravel, Handel-Halvorsen, Schulhoff, Mozart and Kodaly. In 2012, the couple joined the esteemed instrumental and chamber music faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music.
