Letter: Nobody wants to be 'accosted' downtown

Editor of the Reformer,

I think that the reason a lot of downtown businesses are closing up shop is because all of the homeless people accost them wherever they go. I have lived in this town all of my life and the last time that I went downtown was about eight months ago. I parked my car in Harmony Lot and was accosted by three people wanting money — no more downtown for me! And I hardly doubt that it's Donald Trump's fault, you can't blame him for everything! It's the town and how it is policed ... get those people out of downtown and you will have all of the out-of-state people back in no time. It's funny, when I am driving, I notice that the cars from Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and others are all cutting down Cedar Street and Spruce Street to avoid downtown.
