Letter: Bizarro cartoon is offensive

Posted

Editor of the Reformer,

As a longtime, perhaps 40 plus years, subscriber of the Brattleboro Reformer, I'm usually very appreciative of its high caliber daily newspaper status. It's only for the national and international news that I also turn to NPR. But today's (May 7) Bizarro cartoon, which I've enclosed, went far beyond the pale in offensiveness. Daring to make light of the heinous crimes of a serial killer is simply not acceptable in any venue. I really think it calls for an apology. I hope many others have also written to you on this matter — but if not, then please consider submitting this as a "Letter to the Editor" in the newspaper.
