Letter: Enough is enough

Editor of the Reformer,

My kudos to Peter Case for his commentary on Sept. 4 and also the letter to the editor ("Where are Select Board's priorities") dated Sept. 9 from Chip Carter.

Enough is enough. Battleboro is getting to be known as the welfare town!

When I moved here 10 years ago I was so happy to find a town that has a heart, but what happened to common sense and logic?

I concur with Chip Carter; any time I am watching or go to a Select Board hearing the special interest groups seem to be running our town. What about all the families, all the middle class? They need our help also, and adding an extra 1 percent sales tax is not the answer. After two months the extra tax is already hurting businesses in town.

Select Board members, shame on you all!

Elizabeth Clauson
