Letter: Halifax Select Board not working for citizens

Editor of the Reformer,

Regarding the Halifax Select Board meeting of June 23:

The Select Board appears to believe that they can dispense with the rule of law in the town of Halifax. Their total unconcern for the safety of town residents and their flouting of town governance rules and state recommendations for public gatherings are shocking. Their callous rejection of an on-line meeting on the grounds that such a solution is not manageable penalizes many for their downright laziness.

Face it ... it appears as if the Board of Selectmen is NOT working for citizens of Halifax but purely for themselves in the matter of the questionable purchase of acreage from board member Brad Rafus.

Halifax, June 24

Editor's note: The Halifax Select Board meeting has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. tonight.
