Letter: Make Putney Road safe for pedestrians, bicyclists

Editor of the Reformer,

Friday's story quoting Christian Stromberg ("Getting a runaround on crosswalks?") pointed out the problem for pedestrians along Putney Road: no crosswalks and no walk signals at the three lights. Another major problem is for bicyclists: no lines demarking bicycle lanes. Without clearly defined bicycle lanes, cars take up the entire road; this is a major accident waiting to happen. And one major accident will cost Brattleboro and the state way more money than several years of road marking. Let's get with it.
