Letter: Public shaming serves no purpose

Editor of the Reformer,

I was shocked and saddened to see the headline Wednesday, June 5, " Driver Named in Fatal Westminster Crash." What good can possibly come from publicly shaming a young person, or any person, for causing the death of a friend?

I don't know of any reason that we, the general public, need to know who exactly was driving. My condolences go out to everyone involved in that horrible accident and their family and friends.

Brattleboro, June 5
