Letter: Sara Coffey is a builder
Editor of the Reformer,
I am writing this letter in support of Sara Coffey and her campaign to serve the towns of Guilford and Vernon in the Vermont House of Representatives.
I grew up in Guilford in a farming family that has been working the land for over ten generations. I first met Sara many years ago volunteering at the Sugar on Snow Supper at the Guilford Grange. When Sara told me she was running for office I couldn't have been more excited. Sara has been a bright face at volunteer functions for many years, and she's always happy to get to know and work with anyone.
Sara cares deeply about Vernon and Guilford, the people who live here, and the traditions of our farming families. She'll bring innovative ideas to the legislature, ask hard questions, listen to her constituents, and make good choices on our behalf.
In my line of work, which is policy advocacy, we sometimes talk about "blockers" and "builders." Blockers are the people who are good at stopping bad policies from being passed; whereas, builders have a vision for the future and are good at working with people to achieve that vision. Sara is a builder if I ever met one.
I'm currently volunteering with Sara's campaign, and I plan to vote for her in the upcoming election, because I believe in her vision for our future, and I know that she has the experience and dedication that is needed to be an effective representative for our two towns. I hope others will join me in learning more about Sara and voting for her on Nov. 6!
