Letter: Stuart not up to the task

Editor of the Reformer:

West Brattleboro needs new representation at the statehouse. While Representative Valerie Stuart has been a well-intention public servant for the past several years, her voting record has a major blemish - absenteeism. In the last legislative session, Rep. Stuart was absent for 17 votes. Most critically, she was absent from the second budget veto override, a vote that failed by a slim five-vote margin. When the future of our state was in jeopardy, Rep. Stuart was not present. Under our current governor, everything from public education to healthcare and the environment is at risk. West Brattleboro needs a legislator who shows up and fights for Vermonters. Unfortunately, Valerie Stuart has demonstrated that she is not up to the task.
