Letter: Turkey Drive is part of family history

Editor of the Reformer,

I found the article about the Turkey Drive ("Not long ago, Vermont birds made their way to Boston market on foot," Nov. 21) quite interesting. My husband's great grandfather (Amos S. Gallup) participated in a drive when he was a teenager. He was working for a farm in Westminster at the time. It was described as "quite a trip," going from Westminster to Boston, Massachusetts.
