Letter: Vote for Cindy Jerome

Editor of the Reformer,

I first met Cindy Jerome 21 years ago; she was President of the Brattleboro Food Coop Board and I was a new board member. Leadership rested thoughtfully and capably on her shoulders then, as it did years later, when she became President of the Brattleboro Rotary Club.

Cindy has had 19 years of solid not-for-profit business experience caring for our seniors as Executive Director of Holton Home and then Bradley House, which recently merged with Holton Home. She managed a budget of $3 million; her employees earned livable wages and had solid benefits.

Cindy knows our communities deeply and well. Her local government experience includes serving on the Dummerston Selectboard for seven years and as its Town Moderator for eight.

Cindy is a Progressive Democrat. She believes in systemic change, in investing in people and communities so that our lives are better now and in the long run. As a recent graduate of Madeline Kunin's EMERGE VERMONT six-month training program (which identifies, trains and encourages women to run for office at all levels of government), she is committed to putting her experience, her skills, and her beliefs to work for the benefit of all of us.

Please join me in voting for Cindy Jerome as Representative from Dummerston, Putney and Westminster.

Elizabeth Christie

Putney, July 11
