Letter: We cannot remain silent

Editor of the Reformer:

I'm writing in support of the May 15 letter to the editor, "The importance of repairing the world," submitted by Nancy Braus, Sharon Gralnick, Alex Fischer, Jonah Mossberg, Mel Motel, Camille Robertson, Sonia Silbert, and Naomi Ullian. I'm another Jewish member of the community who supports Zeiad Shamrouch's recent visit to local classrooms and is also "deeply concerned with tikkun olam: repairing the world." I appreciated how this letter addressed what many of us learned - and didn't learn - through our Jewish education, and I appreciated how this letter stands as a "call to Jewish people in our community concerned with justice." We cannot remain silent in the face of ongoing persecution of Palestinian people in Gaza.
