Letter: Welcoming an 'old-school' medical practice
Letter to the Editor,
I recently got very ill and required medical attention. Other than a specialist who was very helpful it was virtually impossible to see a "regular" doctor! Although I think PAs are helpful and fulfill a need they are not doctors and I needed someone who would listen to me and help me unravel what was happening to my body and try to figure out what to do. I had heard about Heart Stone Health and decided to investigate. I realized that for the fee per month supported by my medicare and supplement it would be beneficial to join. Immediately I received an email welcoming me to the practice and a phone call to schedule my appointment which was two days later. Imagine that! I saw Doctor Brickley and he was amazing. He listened, he took time to ask questions and gave me his undivided attention. He was in it to figure out how to help me. The same evening he texted me to find out how I was doing. Old school for sure, but what a relief! Already I am feeling better knowing I am in good hands and moving toward a full recovery. It is definitely a different way of approaching patients, but I believe that what people need when they are sick is someone who will show empathy and listen to them. I support this way of practicing medicine and I hope other people will check it out.
