Libraries offer summer reading programs

Join in at 2 p.m. this Friday at Pettee Memorial Library in Wilmington to "Blast Off to Summer Reading." There will be lots of activities to celebrate the start of the summer reading program. Come join in the fun and sign up for the summer reading program, A Universe of Stories. All ages welcome. Complete with a free snack. For more information, call the library at 802-464-8557.

The Townshend Public Library invites local kids to explore a "Universe of Stories" by participating in the summer reading program. The program is designed to keep kids engaged in learning and exploration throughout the summer. This year, kids will have fun, space-themed activities and out-of-this-world contests all summer long.

The library will have lots of new books to check out and passes to visit fun places. All ages are welcome, all activities are free and do not require prior registration, however those wishing to log their reading time for a chance at prizes (including an ice cream cone for every five books you read) will need to register for the summer reading program starting June 17.
