Library to host composting workshop


JACKSONVILLE — The Whitingham Library will host a Composting 101 workshop at 7 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the Whitingham Municipal Center in Jacksonville.

Join in for a demonstration and discussion of the variable ways to compost at home in preparation for the 2020 ban of foods scraps from landfills entirely. Special guests Almira Aekus and Karen Pratt of Whitingham and Cathy Bell of Halifax will discuss what type of composting they use, the process and the benefits, including onsite composting, vermi-composting, and in-vessel composting .
