BRATTLEBORO — Mitchell-Giddings Fine Arts will host an Artist Talk with Petria Mitchell at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at the gallery, 183 Main St.

Mitchell's solo exhibition Light and Air will continue through Sept. 22. This will be an opportunity to hear about her new oil landscapes and to ask questions about her painting techniques and inspiration.

Educated at an early age at The National Academy School of Design, New York, and The Vesper George School of Art, Boston, Mitchell has been actively involved with art making for over 50 years. She co-founded Mitchell-Giddings Fine Arts which will be celebrating its fifth anniversary by expanding its space and moving to its new upstairs space in the fall.
