Lonardo, Tuttle deliver at CVC Championship

HANOVER, N.H. — The Bellows Falls girls track team placed second in the Connecticut Valley Conference Championship meet at Hanover High School on Saturday.

The Terriers ended up just seven points behind champion Hanover, while the Brattleboro girls placed sixth in the 12-school competition.

Winning events for the BF girls were Abby Broadley (3200), Jaden Luebbert (pole vault) and Breanna Stockman (javelin). Michelle Marchica (triple jump), Macie Streeter (javelin) and Emma Lawrence (discus) each earned a silver medal.

Luebbert set the new school record in the pole vault, breaking her previous mark of 9-0 by clearing 9-3.

Maggie Lonardo finished first in three different events to lead the Colonels. She took the long jump with a leap of 16-01, won the 100 in a time of 12.67 seconds, and prevailed in the 200 in 26.91.

Keene, Hanover and Lebanon reached the podium in the boys team scoring. Brattleboro finished fourth, Bellows Falls eighth and Hinsdale 15th.

BF's Reno Tuttle won the discus and shot put, with heaves of 138-11 and 46-04 respectively. Striking gold for the Colonels were Orion Stone (pole vault) and Evan Koch (300 hurdles). Calvin Atkins wound up fourth in the discus to power the Pacers.
