Mahoney, Anchormen open Saturday


PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Rhode Island College softball team will begin the 2019 season at Gallaudet on Saturday at 11 a.m. and then face Frostburg State two hours later on the same field.

Jamie Mahoney, who was a four-time All League selection while playing for the Brattleboro Colonels, is listed as a freshman catcher on the Rhode Island roster. She is majoring in Medical Imaging.

She batted .460 and swiped 16 bases during her senior year at BUHS. The purple and white went 13-3 during the regular season.

R.I.C. will play at Plymouth State on March 30 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., will play at Keene State on April 23 at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and will play at Castleton State on April 27 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
