Mane joins Rochester football team

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Union High School graduate Malick Mane is a freshman linebacker on the University of Rochester football team.

The 5-11, 174-pounder was a senior co-captain for the Colonels. He lettered for three seasons while playing linebacker and tight end for the purple and white.

Last fall, Mane was selected as a First Team All-State linebacker and Second Team All-State tight end. He ended up with 300 receiving yards and one touchdown in 2018, to go along with 55 tackles and five sacks as a defender.

During his Senior Day game, Mane caught a 25-yard pass and also scored on a sweep.

The Yellowjackets of Rochester, N.Y. went 1-9 last season.
