MAU girls rally past Colonels

BRATTLEBORO — The MAU varsity girls basketball team rallied from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat host Brattleboro, 45-43, on Monday night.

Sophomore Grace Mahar paced the winners with 23 points, 19 rebounds and five steals. Anna Iannotti chipped in with seven points and nine boards.

The Patriots made 18 of 33 free throws on the evening.

Hailey Derosia had another monster game for the purple and white, finishing with 20 points, seven caroms and nine takeaways. Rachael Rooney and Lauren McKenney ended up with eight and seven points respectively.

It was the final home game for BUHS senior Megyn Ayotte, who will go on to play lacrosse at Franklin Pierce.
