Montgomery duo directs final Fun Run


BRATTLEBORO — Gary and Chris Montgomery coordinated their final Fun Run on Wednesday night, following 21 summers of directing the bi-weekly road races on Upper Dummerston Road.

David Hiler won the three-mile Australian Pursuit event in a time of 26:52. He was followed by Molly Storm (28:40), Miles Hiler (28:40), Joe Ninesling (28:41), Jennifer Smith (28:58), Bob Lance (29:59), Carter West (32:04), Raji Ballou (32:28), Leo Schiff (32:35), Suzy West (35:15), Chuck Adams (35:24) and Serge Pouliot (38:15).

Hailey Richards prevailed in the one-mile heat in 9:15. After that, it was Addie Smith (11:06), Kaylin Richards (13:13) and Tammy Richards (13:14).

The order of finish for the two-miler looks like this: Zoe Humphreys (22:58), Lester Humphreys (22:59) and Connie Burton (25:57).

Melissa Stewart struck gold in a very competitive 2.5-mile trail run, with a time of 23:07. Emily Fuller (24:08) finished second, David Wicker (24:09) placed third, and John Duff (25:18) ended up fourth.
