Moore Free Library announces speaker lineup

NEWFANE — Moore Free Library, 23, West St., has a number of events scheduled this month. All events are free and open to the public.

- The Community of VT Elders (COVE) will give a presentation on "How to Spot and Foil Scammers," Thursday, Jan. 10, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Are you bothered by telemarketers, scam emails, and postal solicitations? This talk will share tips on how to tell whether someone is trying to scam you and how to stop them.

- State Rep. Emily Long, D-Windham-5, will be available to listen to constituents (Newfane, Townshend, Marlboro) at library on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 11 a.m. to noon. Vermont state representatives do not have local offices, so this is a way to meet your legislator and share your concerns.

- Kit Barry, director of the Ephemera Archive for American Studies, will give a talk on ephemera in general and Newfane/West River Valley ephemera in particular, Sunday, Jan. 26, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Barry will also share information about the Ephemera Archive and how people can donate their materials or share their time as volunteers.
