WINDHAM — Crews from multiple towns responded to a house fire at 5736 Windham Hill Road Tuesday afternoon.

A passerby reported flames coming from the back of the building, where officials say the fire started, just before 2 p.m. Crews from Windham, Townshend, Jamaica, South Londonderry and Weston fought the fire while Peru covered for Windham at the station. The flames were under control by around 3:30 p.m., according to firefighters at the scene. No injuries were reported.

Rick Weitzel, Windham's assistant fire chief, said the building that caught fire is the resident's second home, and no one was inside at the time.

When asked if the blaze resulted in a total loss of the structure, Weitzel said, "I would say so."

No further information was immediately available.
