Reformer Staff

CHESTERFIELD, N.H. — On June 10, at 6:20 p.m., the Chesterfield Police Department, Hinsdale Police Department, New Hampshire State Police, Chesterfield Fire and Rescue and Rescue Inc. responded to a reported three car crash on Route 9 in the area of Stowe Drive.

The Chesterfield Police Department's preliminary investigation revealed that Alexis Beaudin, 30, of Stoddard, N.H., was driving east on Route 9 in a 2015 Jeep Compass when she crossed over the double solid line in front of Coner Hiner, 19, of Brattleboro, who was driving a 2004 Honda CRV westbound on Route 9.

In an attempt to avoid a collision, Hiner swerved into the breakdown lane, but was sideswiped by Beaudin's vehicle. Beaudin continued eastbound in the westbound lane and also sideswiped a vehicle being driven by Maureen Powers, 57, of West Chesterfield, N.H., who was driving a 2008 Toyota Camry.

The specific reason why Beaudin crossed over the double solid line is still under investigation.

All parties involved in the accident received minor injuries. The Jeep Compass and Honda CRV were towed from the scene.

Any witnesses who observed this accident and was not interviewed on the date of the accident is encouraged to contact Chief Duane Chickering at 603-363-4233, ext. 61.
