BRATTLEBORO — On Aug. 28, the Brattleboro Police Department received a report from the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital regarding an elderly women who appeared to have been abused. The elderly woman was brought to the emergency department earlier that day.
The Brattleboro Police Department Criminal Investigation Division in conjunction with the Windham County Safe Place Child Advocacy Center opened an investigation on the accused, Robert Feeley, 73, who has residences in Massachusetts and Maine.
The investigation determined that Feeley and the elderly woman had an extensive history with one another. Both subjects were staying at local motels when the alleged incidents occurred. A statement about an alleged sexual assault was obtained by the elderly woman by law enforcement on Aug. 30 with the assistance of the Windham County Safe Place.
Feeley was interviewed on Aug. 30 and denied these allegations. Feeley was cited with sexual assault and held on lack of $10,000 bail. He was ordered to appear at the Windham County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.

- At just before 6:30 p.m., troopers with the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks responded to a family fight in Rockingham. During the investigation it was determined that Jillian Taylor, 34, of Rockingham, had assaulted a family member at her place of residence. Also present at the residence was Jillian's mother, Carol Hampshire, 60, of Grafton, and step-father, James Hampshire, 59, also of Grafton. It was determined that the Hampshires had driven to the residence in separate vehicles and were both under the influence of alcohol at the time and that James Hampshire had also made threats towards another person. Taylor was arrested and cited with domestic assault. James Hampshire was arrested and cited with driving under the influence and criminal threatening. Carol Hampshire was arrested and cited with driving under the influence.
- At 11:20 p.m., the Vermont State Police initiated a traffic stop in the location of Interstate 89 in South Burlington for a speeding violation. Connor Little, 20, of Guilford, was cited with negligent operation for traveling 90 mph in a 55-mph zone.
