Aug. 15

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a local parking lot for a report of a smashed vehicle window. As a result, Peter M. James, 40, of Brattleboro, was cited with unlawful mischief.

Aug. 25

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department were dispatched to a local hotel where a large amount of marijuana had been found in a guest's hotel room. Officers secured the room and applied for a search warrant, which was granted and executed. As a result, five pounds of marijuana was seized and Chad Parker, 45, of New Portland, Maine, was charged with possession of marijuana.

Sept. 9

- At 5:15 p.m., officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a Canal Street business for a report of a disorderly subject. As a result, Justin E. Clough, 39, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with disorderly conduct.

Sept. 13

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department began an investigation into a report of an employee at a local business using a stolen credit card to make fraudulent charges and stealing money from the register. As a result, Tiffany Palmer, 23, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with fraudulent use of a credit card, petit larceny and possession of stolen property.

Sept. 17

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department were conducting a walking patrol of the park at 42 South Main Street when they located two males acting suspiciously at the gazebo. Officers made contact with Tyler Partyka, 26, of Brattleboro who gave a false name. He was cited with giving false information to a police officer.

Sept. 18

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Putney Road for a report of an intoxicated male. As a result, Denny R. Bills, 55, of Brattleboro, was cited with unlawful trespass.

Sept. 20

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department noticed suspicious activity involving two people near a public building on Canal Street. When officers approached the two, they discovered Nathan Hazlett, 46, of Brattleboro, was preparing to use heroin. He was arrested and cited with possession of heroin.

Sept. 21

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Elliot Street to a report of a male dressed in female clothing taking a wallet from someone. Upon arrival, a description of the suspect was given and officers conducted a search for the suspect. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the identity of the suspect was Jamie A Douglas, 29, of Brattleboro. Douglas was later located and cited with larceny from a person.

Sept. 22

- In the early morning hours, officers with the Brattleboro Police Department observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Putney Road. Following a traffic stop, Russell J. Ryan, 26, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with driving under the influence and violating the conditions of his release.

Sept. 25

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department observed Charles R. Cassell, 27, of Brattleboro, in front of a Canal Street residence. As a result, Cassell was cited with violating the conditions of his 24-hour curfew.

Sept. 26

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a parking lot in downtown Brattleboro for a report of a man yelling profanities. As a result, James A. Douglas, 28, of Brattleboro, was cited with disorderly conduct and aggressive panhandling.

Sept. 27

- At just past 3 p.m., deputies with the Windham County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into a traffic crash. As a result, Kenneth Clark, 54, of Wilmington, was arrested and cited with driving under the influence.

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Putney Road for the report of a retail theft. As a result, Joyce V. Baker, 44, and Brooke A. Class, 21, both of Brattleboro, were cited with retail theft and unlawful trespass.

Oct. 1

- At just past midnight, officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a Canal Street business where they cited Trent W. Johnson, 29, of Brattleboro, with unlawful trespass.

- At 5:55 p.m., officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of an altercation at a Main Street residence. As a result, Samuel Schaner, 29, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with domestic assault.

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Canal Street for a report of retail theft. As a result, Linda L. Wainwright, 41, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with retail theft and unlawful trespass.

Oct. 2

- At 8:30 p.m., officers with the Brattleboro Police Department, firefighters from the Brattleboro Fire Department and Rescue Inc. responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Black Mountain Road and Fox Farm Road. Police determined Christie L. Thereault, 50, of Newfane, had misjudged the position of her vehicle and rolled it down an embankment. Thereault was not injured as a result of the crash, however, she was arrested and cited with driving under the influence.

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department conducted a welfare check at a residence on Canal Street. At the time, officers learned Gary G. Ewens, 62, of Brattleboro, had caused serious bodily injury to another person. Ewens also has previous convictions for domestic assault. Ewens was arrested and cited with domestic assault.

Oct. 3

- At 6:40 p.m., officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Elliot Street for the report of a disturbance involving a man yelling obscenities and threatening people. As a result, Justin E. Clough, 38, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with disorderly conduct.

Oct. 6

- At 4:30 a.m., officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on South Main Street for a medical emergency. Upon arrival it was determined that the person having the medical emergency was deceased. Foul play is not suspected at this time and the name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The Brattleboro Fire Department and Rescue Inc. assisted at the scene.

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department observed Tameeka L. Ellis, 22, of Brattleboro, operating a motor vehicle on Canal Street. Officers knew Ellis from prior law enforcement contact and knew her to have a criminally suspended driver's license. Following a traffic stop, Ellis was cited with operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license.

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a Putney Road business for a trespassing report. As a result, Rodney A. Lumbra, 57, of Brattleboro, was cited with violating a trespass order.

- Officers with the Brattleboro Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle that had plates that did not match the vehicle. As a result, Carl R. Engstrom, 24, of Brattleboro, was cited with operating a vehicle with a revoked license.
