Post 5 prevails on Tenney Field


BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro American Legion baseball team held on for a 6-5 victory over White River Junction on Wednesday at Tenney Field.

Joe Rafus went four innings for the win. Alex Bingham, Christian Thomsen and Adam Newton (save) all pitched in relief.

Newton pounded out two of Post 5's six total hits. Hunter Beebe (3 RBI), Jack Pattison, Jeremy Rounds and Thomsen all hit safely.

Pattison, Tyler Millerick and Beebe teamed up for a 5-4-3 double play to lead the winners defensively. Rounds had a team-high three stolen bases.

Brattleboro improved to 8-4 overall with the win.
