Rebels aiming for another strong season

BRATTLEBORO — The Leland & Gray varsity boys soccer team, which has reached the Elite 8 in each of the last two seasons, will debut at Rivendell Academy on Sept. 4 at 4:30 p.m.

The Rebels went 10-5-1 in 2017 and then 11-5-0 last season, losing in a Division 3 quarterfinal to Peoples Academy each year.

Riley Barton tallied twice for the Townshend team during a 3-2 victory over Thetford in a 2018 first-round playoff game. Jordan Perrson also found the back of the net for the Rebels in that contest.

The home opener for the Rebels is set for Sept. 6 against Twin Valley. Their complete schedule is shown below.

Sept. 4 — at Rivendell Academy, 4:30 p.m.

Sept. 6 — host Twin Valley, 4:30 p.m.

Sept. 13 — at Black River (vs. Windsor), 6 p.m.

Sept. 14 — at Black River, TBA

Oct. 10 — at Burr and Burton, 4 p.m.

Oct. 12 — host Green Mountain, 11 a.m.

Oct. 15 — host Bellows Falls, 4 p.m.

Oct. 18 — at Twin Valley, 6 p.m.
