River Valleys budget approved


DOVER and WARDSBORO — The River Valleys Unified School District's $5,346,131 budget received approval from voters Tuesday in a 155-41 vote.

The district covers Dover and Wardsboro elementary schools. Voting results from the two towns are commingled.

In a 153-41 vote, residents approved amending an article in the district's agreement to allow budget votes to occur from the floor at the district's annual meeting.

In a 156-36 vote, residents approved amending an article to allow Dover to vote for board members by Australian ballot and Wardsboro to do so from the floor.

Board members Richard Thorpe of Wardsboro and Laura Sibilia of Dover were re-elected to three-year terms. They had run unopposed.
