Rock River Artists' work on display

SOUTH NEWFANE — The 25-year-old Rock River Artists collective will display work for purchase at 80 Main St.,in the former Oasis, right next to Mocha Joe's, Friday through Sunday.

Artists include: Rob Cartelli: functional ceramics; Richard Foye, raku; Roger Sandes, paintings and prints; Chris Ericson, furniture and jewelry; Caryn King, painting; Rich Gillis, ironwork; Matt Tell: pottery; Christine Triebert, photography; Steven Meyer: painting; Leonard Ragouzeos: painting and drawing; Deidre Scherer, thread on fabric, and Georgie, painting.

According to event organizers, the Rock River Artists have offered their works collectively on Main Street in years past, hosting a month-long December show during several holiday seasons. This is the first time they'll be exhibiting together over Thanksgiving weekend — getting their work out of the studio and onto the street, and offering their lively mix of art and contemporary crafts to downtown visitors.
