Rockingham, BF boards select new manager

BELLOWS FALLS — The Rockingham Select Board and the Bellows Falls Village Trustees believe they have found their new municipal manager.

The two boards voted to offer the job of municipal manager to someone, but the name is being kept secret.

Bellows Falls Village President Deb Wright said Wednesday the boards had come out of closed-door session Tuesday night and voted to offer the job to someone, but Wright would only identify the person as "Candidate No. 25."

"No name until after they accept," she wrote in an email.

The two boards received a total of 27 applicants for the town and village manager's position, and the search committee had narrowed the field to four semi-finalists, who were further narrowed to two finalists.

Both of those people, described as a man and a woman, were interviewed in Bellows Falls last week and also met with town and village employees.

The job will pay between $80,000 and $90,000.

Municipal Manager Shane O'Keefe gave his notice six months ago, and his last day on the job is at the end of June.

The town and village have been working with the Vermont League of Cities and Towns on the search, and the town and village had appointed a joint town-village-community committee to help in the selection process.
