BRATTLEBORO — Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 4, Brattleboro Select Board meetings will be held using the online platform called Zoom instead of GoToMeeting.

"After our recent discussion about the advantages of using Zoom for Representative Town Meeting, I realized there are several reasons to go ahead and try Zoom now for Select Board meetings," said Select Board Chair Tim Wessel. "It's more well-known to regular users than GoToMeeting, more user-friendly, and we will have time to `break-in' the service as both a host and as users well in advance of RTM."

Wessel added that "the security concerns we had in March that swayed us toward GoToMeeting are no longer present."

Since moving from in-person meetings to online meetings on April 2 due to the social distancing requirements of COVID-19, the Select Board and Brattleboro's other boards and committees

have held their meetings on the GoToMeeting platform. Some of Brattleboro's boards and committees will continue to meet on GoToMeeting, others may switch to Zoom. The platform

and information about how to attend and participate in these meetings is published at the top of every meeting's agenda.

For Select Board meetings, go to or call 833-548-0282. The "Meeting ID" is: 860 6789 2659.
