Snide struck gold on college track

BURLINGTON — University of Vermont sophomore DJ Snide won the 55 meter hurdles in 8.07 seconds at the North Country All-Comers meet on Feb. 10.

"Diesel" then took second in the heptathlon at the America East Indoor Championships on Feb. 22-23. His best event finishes were seconds in the 60. shot put, 60 hurdles, and pole vault.

Snide, who can solve a Rubik's Cube in 45 seconds, also won the 55 meter hurdles at the University of New Hampshire when he was a freshman.

The Bellows Falls Union High School graduate helped the Terriers to a Division 2 state championship on the gridiron in 2016 as an offensive guard and defensive lineman.
