Steever's soaring at Keene State

BRATTLEBORO — Keene State College freshman Caleb Steever placed second in the triple jump (12.65 meters) and second in the high jump (1.95 meters) at the Smith Winter Classic indoor track meet on Dec. 1.



At the Rhode Island College Invitational on Dec. 8, the Hinsdale High School graduate silvered in the triple jump (12.78 meters) and finished first in the high jump (1.98 meters).



At the Meet of Champions in June, Steever led the Pacers by clearing 6-2 to win the high jump and leaping over 40 feet to place eighth in the triple jump.



He also averaged 13 points and eight rebounds per game during his senior season with the Hinsdale varsity boys basketball team, which ended up with a 10-9 mark.



Steever is majoring in Physical Education at Keene State College.



KSC's indoor track and field team will compete in the Tufts Invitational on Saturday in Medford, Mass.
