BRATTLEBORO — Keep It Here All Year! That's the spirit of the Holly Days, Holly Nights shopping and dining event presented by the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Brattleboro area businesses.

Dec. 6-8, a total of 27 Brattleboro shops and restaurants will kick off the holiday shopping season by offering savings to help even the most discerning shopper find the perfect holiday gift.

Holly Days, Holly Nights began in 1987 as a way to encourage people from the local community and neighboring towns to do their holiday shopping in Brattleboro. Thirty-two years later it is still the centerpiece of the chamber's yearlong effort to remind people of the importance of supporting local independent businesses.

"Local businesses are the heart of the community - they employ local residents, have great products and embrace a customer service ethic that you can't find online or at a shopping mall," said Kate O'Connor, executive director of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce.

During the three-day promotion shops and restaurants will offer special savings to customers. In addition, the Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a raffle that will award a $100 gift certificate to one customer who shops or dines at five participating Holly Days business.

Thirty thousand copies of the Holly Days, Holly Nights card will be inserted into the Brattleboro Reformer, Keene Sentinel, Greenfield Recorder and Deerfield Valley News the week of December 2. The card can also be found at the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce and at participating businesses. The card must be presented to receive the discounts.
